I assume that you have or can have a relationship where 1 employee has many time cards.
Make a summary field of the # of the time card entries in the last xxx dats where xxx is your time period reporting span.

Make a report of employees where that summary total is zero and the employee manager is the current user.

Set up a subscription of that report to go to all managers.

I only have one table. It is meant to track time spent on specific tasks, not a time card system where associates punch in and out. They select a task, date the task, and enter time spent on that task. There should be multiple entries each day, as they are to track all tasks performed that day. I need the notification to go to the manager when an associate has not entered any tasks for the week.

No problem.

Set up a new table for the employees and make relationship back to timecards.

I'm not sure if your current drop down field is for employees now. It make be a simple text field or it may be a user field. What ever it is, use that same field type for the employees table key field.
Mthsn when you make the relationship to the employees table they will join up to their parents automatically.

Then you can use my suggested solution.

I'm sorry, but I honestly don't understand what you are trying to describe. Right now, the associates click the "New Task" button and it takes them to the task entry page. Their user name is set to "current user", there is no drop down option. What would my Employee table look like? How would I relate it back to the tasks table?

You would create a new table and have a field called employee. It would be type User.

Make that the sketch field of the stable.

Enter all your employees.

Then make a a relationship between the two tables using the current field you have as the reference field on the right side of the relationship.

You may want to do this on s a copy of your app if you never made relations before.
