If 2 check box fields are checked and the job shipped it would have a date entered in the CLOSED field.

These are the fields:

[Invoice to customer PAID]  - check box field

[PO to factory PAID]  -check box field

[Tracking Numbers] - either blank or has a number in it

[Month closed] -If all 3 above are not blank it puts a date in this field.

This can be done with a Form Rule like this

When the record is saved

and all of the following are true

[Invoice to customer PAID] is checked

[PO to factory PAID]  is checked

[Tracking Numbers]  is not equal to (blank) - just leave the box empty

Change the value of the field [Month Closed] to the current date

Note that this will only work if the record is edited using a form.  It will not work in Grid Edit.

Do I do it one long line like this and where do I put the parenthesis?

When the record is saved and all of the following are true [Invoice to customer PAID] is checked [PO to factory PAID]  is checked [Tracking Numbers]  is not equal to (blank) - just leave the box empty change the value of the field [Month Closed] to the current date.

You need to go to the Form and look for the tab called Dynamic Form Rules. Create a new Dynamic Form Rule and then it will sort of hold your hand though the process.  This is not a formula. This is explaining a Dynamic Form Rule.

Here is some Help on Form Rules.

Thank you Mark...this would be a terrific option but I now see that our plan doesn't include the Dynamic Form Rule.

Sorry, no wonder you were confused.  Yes the "Essentials" plan does not support form rules  I should have mentioned that.

The fields are not updated in Grid Edit Mode
