Is it possible to create a button on a table that will open a section in that table and if you click the button again will it close the section?

You can have a form rule to open or close a section based on the value in a checkbox field.

Then in view mode you could show a button to change value of that checkbox field and refresh the record.

You will need to create a field on your table to be the checkbox field and put the Field ID# in where it says 269 above.
