Is it possible to repeat field names in the setup of a form?

I have rules in place based on language so that the section headings will change based on the user's choice. I need the field to appear below the section heading regardless of which language the user chooses.

I'm currently working around this by creating a section heading for each language, where the rule determines which will appear and then creating a separate, blank section heading for the actual field, so that it will always appear.

This leaves a blank space with the collapse button and looks awkward, since there is nothing to collapse.

So currently, I have:

1. Section heading (English with rule to hide if French is selected)

2. Section heading (French with rule to hide if English is selected)

3. Blank section heading

4. Field X

What I'd like to be able to do is:

1. Section heading (English with rule to hide if French is selected)

2. Field X

3. Section heading (French with rule to hide if English is selected)

4. Field X

Field X would only be used once on the form, depending on which language the user chooses.

Input fields may only be used once on a form, regardless of form rules. It may not appear twice in two sections.

Thanks Mark. So is the way I'm handling it the best way? Is there anything I can do to eliminate the collapse button on the blank section header?

Sections which do not have names may not be collapsed, so that will remove the option to collapse. So I suggest you get your form Rules all set up nicely so you can know which section is which and then go back in and erase all of your section heading names. While the form rules may then be a bit confusing to read in fact quick base knows which is which.

You can also decide if your form looks better, which I'm sure it will be in your situation, if you select the tab to edit the form properties to not have a horizontal line between sections.

Ah okay! So I was putting a space in the "blank" section headings. As soon as I removed the space, the collapse button disappeared. My form looks pretty good now. Thanks Mark!

Another way is to use a formula field that references the original value. You can use a formula field multiple times in a form.

.. unless it is an input field.
