Is it possible to use an application variable as a filter? For example, a date as a named variable [Date Variable] used to filter when it's equal to some value.

Pretty straightforward, though I suppose we'd likely need to add another field that would convert the variable to a date string.

Let's say I have a variable [Date Variable] that is a date (10-30-2016). I want to use it as a filter for reports.

My guess is that I'd have to have a formula date field that is ToDate([Date Variable]), then I could use it as a filter.

Is that right?

User Defined Variables act as text fields that are available in every record of every table. You can use them exactly as you suggest if the are combined with comparison operators.

Thanks, Mr Bolt. And I suppose this is the only way as there's no way to reference the raw variable itself as a filter in a report, right?
