I created a project with a due date & then created tasks for that project via importing CSV file. I would like to create start dates for each task in that project based on the due date for the project.

Hi Lisa,

Yes, you can automatically assign start dates that are reliant on the due date of the project.  You will need to create a "Formula - Date" field which will serve as your "Start Date" field.

The formula for this field is whatever formula you are calculating the start date by.  If you want the start date to be two weeks prior to the due date, you can do something like..

[Due Date]-Days(14)

It's that simple!

If you want to calculate the start date, however you want to have a start date override.. You'll need to create an additional two fields.  A "Checkbox" field called "Start Date Override" and a "Date" field called "Start Date Override*".  In our Formula - Date field, Start Date, use the following formula....

If([Start Date Override],[Start Date Override*],[Due Date]-Days(14))

Then add all of the field to your form & create a form rule that says, if [Start Date Override] = true THEN show [Start Date Override*].

You're done!
