Is there a way to create a button/logic that can toggle which version of a form you are looking at?

I am creating a form that a sales rep can edit and quickly turn into an invoice that is customer facing. Hence a way to toggle what form is displayed for turning into a PDF.

Hi Ted,

Here's a KB article that will walk you through the process of creating a formula URL button that when clicked would open up a new add record form:

http://quickbase.intuit.com/developer/knowledge-base/how-can-i-create-formula-url-button-which-opens...

From what you wrote it sounds like you want to toggle to a view form however.  Although the process would very much be the same, you still would need to alter the formula a bit.  Here's an example of a formula I created that when clicked will direct you to the same record but on another form:

URLRoot() & "db/" &[_DBID_CLIENT]&"?a=dr" & "&rid="&[Record ID#]&"&dfid=14"

*where [_DBID_CLIENT] is my table's alias and 14 is the form I am directing to's ID.

Hope this helps! Give this a try and let me know how it goes.

Hi Brendan, to piggy back on this question, is there a way to add something to that formula so that when the Add Record button is pushed, it would automatically insert a specific value into a text - multiple choice field?

I ask because i am using the above formula to direct people to add a new document. I have a text-multiple choice field named Document Type, and i would like the type 'Safety Inquiry' to automatically be chosen when a user clicks Add Record. thanks!!

Can you post your current formula and I can help you adjust it.  Please let me know the field ID# of the field that you want to populate.

The formula is:

URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_DOCUMENT_LIBRARY] & "?a=API_GenAddRecordForm&dfid=14&_fid_84=" & URLEncode ([Record ID#])& "&z=" & Rurl()

FID is 10. The value I would like populated from the dropdown is Safety Inquiry.

THANKS!
