Is there any way to connect a Googe drive xls/xlsx file directly into QB rather than just .csv?

I need xlsx file direct connection from google drive... because if i have to download the file as csv and then upload the file back up on google drive to make a connection, it defeats the purpose of making a direct connection to the xlsx file...

If I may ask, how does your xlsx file get there in the first place?  Can it not be uploaded as a .csv to start with, or is it being worked on actively within the Drive or delivered some other way?

Currently I have spreadsheet(s) that I'm working on GoogleSheet.  When I need to move any of the spreadsheet under QB Sync folder, it needs to be a file with extension .csv... so i need to save my original spreadsheet as .csv and then put it under Sync folder.... if i put the file (.xlsx) file under the Sync folder, it cannot/does not recognize it and requires it to be a .csv file... so this is kind of a extra step i need to take...
