Need a URL button that could make this dual functionality possible. Ideally it would check a box to require fields, test for completeness, mark finalized and save.

I have a submission form that users can complete as time allows but there may be a few who are ready to submit a completed form right away. Currently, I have a URL button using the formula below but it requires an active record:

var text URLONE =

URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid()

& "?act=API_EditRecord&rid="

&[Record ID#] & "&_fid_720=1";

var text URLTWO = URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?a=er&rid="& [Record ID#] & "&dfid=39";

var text url = $URLONE

& "&rdr=" & URLEncode($URLTWO);

 $URL

What is the best approach for managing this type of request for new records?

My suggestion is to set the button to only show in View mode.

Interesting thought. I'm not sure that it would solve for those who want to save and finalize (checking a box) at the same time.
