Using the project management app.

Want users to be able to change the record owner at the bottom of the screen in Edit mode.

But don't want them to be able to right click on a field in the Task form and be able to edit or add fields.

Seems like only way to allow users to change a Record Owner is to turn on Edit Field Properties for the role.

Unfortunately, this also gives the user the ability to click on any field and change its properties.

Is there a way to allow a role to change record owner of task without giving them access to edit the other fields in the task form?

Thanks.

I would personally create a new field called task owner, which is a user list field, this will allow users to allocate tasks to other users. This field also allows multiple selections of users (up to 10) so you can allocate tasks to several users, useful if you want to split a task between two or three or more staff. It would also require some adjustment to your reports so they display based on this field rather than record owner. You could then remove the record owner field from your forms and reports, this would then be more of a task added to quickbase by field.

Note if you are using this field then you must have the users added to the application users list. If you dont want to give them access to change anything you can create a viewer role (or use the default viewer role) or create a role with no access to anything.
