I end up creating multiple notifications when I need to send the same alert to others in a different role.  I wish there was a better way to deal with this.

I think that you will need to explain your use case with a bit more detail.

I have an alert set up to advise the Project Manager as well as the Construction Manager if a date has changed in my projects. Currently I send the alert to each one separately as I can only select one person in the specific user field 'PM" (I know I can add a number of emails but that will not be dynamic one a PM changes).  I would like to avoid creating two alerts if I can choose to send it multiple users in certain title.

I suggest that you make a formula UserList field called

[Project Manager and Construction Manager]

ToUserList([Project Manager], [Construction Manager])

That field will then be available as a drop down .

Alternatively, you can actually carefully type the field(s) vertically in that box where it says

"or type in email addresses, user names, or group names:"

and it will work too.

[Project Manager]

[Construction Manager]

I don't know why its not documented that you can type in a field name(s) in square brackets.

Yes to both. They are user fields, not text fields, and I used them vertically (pressing enter after each field name).

Oh, I think that I know know the issue.
For fields you use the [Square Brackets]

But group names are just typed in without [square brackets]General Foreman
Coordinator

But having  said that, are you really sure that those are Group names.  They look an awful lot like a Role name.  That is not the same thing.

Oh sorry, my mistake, you are saying that these are user fields.

Well, I have no more ideas.  If you like I can have a quick look myself on a GoToMeeting or else you will need to put in a support ticket.  Contact me me via email the in my Profile.
