Reminder emails off of calendar report

Hello, I have a simple calendar report showing due dates for payments my company needs to send out. I want to set up a reminder email 10 days before each event that would go to the project manager and our accountant. Has anyone successfully done this before? Most of the postings I see seem to be about more complex logic than just based on the date on a report, but can't see an easy way to set up by poking around. Thanks!
