Hello All,

I am trying to setup dashboard reports for different roles in the company.

One of them is the Management team with specific and sensitive information.
I want to be able to create homepage that is accessible by Management Role users only.

Is that possible?

Thank you,

You can assign a Home page to a role, but as far as I know, not 'restrict' Home page access to a role. The safest thing to do is ensure that certain roles do not have access to certain reports that are going to be hosted in said Home page.

Not only can you restrict reports to roles, but you can also restrict tables to roles. When you click the 'settings' link while on the main home page of the application, select "Roles", then over to the right hand side, you will see the link "Set Role access to reports". Here you will have a grid presented where you can select which reports are available to which roles.

Open the properties of a particular role and use the "Permissions" and "User Interface" tabs to set role access to tables.

The best security is to restrict certain Roles from seeing certain record.  ie, not just hiding tables, but actually setting their Role permission to not be able to view those records.

However,  I also do recognize that you may need to have front line staff see the detail, say sales, but you don't want them to see the pretty charts or summary reports which show the trends in sales with aggregated data.

I forgot to mention that when I display a report on the home page that is restricted by role, users with access to the homepage can still see that report.

If I leave a button or link on the homepage to a restricted report, it allows user with access to the homepage to click the link and see the report.

Another option is to pick one field that is contained in those reports and restrict the field access to "none" for that one field, then the report will not display even if they find some way to get to the dashboard.

That Works!

Thank you!
