I am a Ruby newbie and I am looking for some help getting started with Ruby and Quickbase.

I have quite a bit of experience using HTML, jQuery, AJAX, and CSS in my Quickbase application "dbpages" to extend the UI.

I now have a need to utilize server side code to process/manipulate data and I am wondering if it is possible to utilize a similar approach to writing and hosting code in one or more of my Quickbase application's dbpages.

To start, I am looking for an up-to-date example (hello world?) of how to execute some RUBY code from a Quickbase dbpage and display the result in an HTML page also hosted in my application as a dbpage.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Ruby does not run within a browser in the same manner as JavaScript. But see:

This is relevant - https://quickbase-background-jobs.heroku.com/home.html - but I believe you'd need to run your own web server somewhere to redirect the browser to your results page in QuickBase.
