Search on a project within a summary report not producing correct result

When I am running a summary report  and in the process I would like to search for a project,  using few letters in the search field lists projects which are not relevant.  How is the search criteria built in QB?  How to change this to show only relevant projects?

I believe this to be true by assumption but I have not tested.  Perhaps you can test.
I know that for a table report, the filter box at the top of the report will search all fields which are both flagged as being searchable in their field properties, and are on the table report.

For a Summary report, I presume that it will simply search all searchable fields.  You should get into your field list and use the options to show searchability (green checkboxes).  Then hack away ruthless at irrelevant ones and you will likely get both faster results (as QB will have fewer fields to search) and more relevant results. Post back and let me know if I can tun this into an Answer.

Thanks a lot.  I did change these settings.  But funny thing is that when i was testing after the changes I could still a project which does not quite match with the key word.

I assume that you have got fewer bad hits after the change. But if you are still getting some bad hits, then there must still be some searchable fields with that search string in them.

Not too sure Mark if you are aware that by turning off search ability of certain fields, you lose the ability to select such fields for the dynamic filters in reports. I discovered this hard way.

Indeed I'm aware of that. yes, dynamic filters are considered part of searchability.
