I need an email to go out to non quickbase users 20 days after their record has been modified.

We use quickbase for our RMA process and want customers to receive an email 20 days after we ship their product back to them.

Can this be done?

QuickBase Subscriptions and Reminders may only be sent to QuickBase users, so that cannot be done on an automated basis using native QuickBase.

My suggestion would be to make a report of Customers due for an RMA reminder and have that report go to an internal person.  Then I would create a formula URL button to populate a field i would call [Date RMA follow up sent] with today's date.

I would then set up a Notification of Type Open (which can go to external non QuickBase Users) to go to the Customer, and set it to trigger when tat new Date field was changed, and the date is not blank.

The code for the button (not tested) would be something like

var text URLONE = urlroot() & "db/" & dbid() & "?act=API_EditRecord&rid=" & totext(Record ID#])

& "&_fid_123=" & totext(Today());

var text URLTWO = urlroot() & "db/" & dbid() & "?a=q&qid=99";

$URLONE

& "&rdr=" & URLEncode($URLTWO)

You would replace the 123 with the field ID of that new date field and replace the 99 with the report id # of report of RMA reminders due to be sent.

So each time you click the URL button, the email would trigger and the report would refresh with one less record on it.

Thanks for the suggestion but this is currently a manual process. We are trying to fully automate this as we send out too many emails already.

If you like I can create a script for you which when launched would trigger all the emails - so just 1 button to push each morning.  Or if you want a fully automated solution there are other options, but they require more setup and perhaps a monthly fee to a QuickBase developer partner who has a 3rd Party add on tool.  Contact me via the information in my profile if you want to discuss option off line.

Thanks again, I'll consider my options for now and possibly get back to you in the future.
