The issue is, that we need to see all records from the parent table and also the text of the field from the child table in a report and not just a link, is that possible?

Which child's data do you need to see up in the parent.  I assume its a text field?  But what if there are 10 children?? Which child's data did you want to show?

There is only one child record for each parent record.  The only reason the child table exist is due to space issues.  There is one main field in the child table and that is a comments field.

Currently I hid the add button in the form of the parent table, if a child record already exist.

Yes, it is a text field, multiline.

OK, so you need to make a reverse lookup.

On the relationship do a summary maximum of the [Record ID#] field.  I know there is only 1 but its still the Maximum of the 1 record's [Record ID#] field.

Now the Parent knows the Record ID of the child record's data it needs so we are one step closer.

Next do a reverse relationship where 1 child has many parent.  yes it will seem backwards.  On the right hand side use the reference field of that Summary Maximum field.  Then just "lookup" any field you need from the child up to the parent
