some of the new user of my application cannot access their record, why?

some of the new users(not all) on the application which I managed access, but no record showing up. but apparently there is open record (task) for them to complete. i confirm the user name, email, etc. are correct, cannot figure out the reason.

There could be a few causing this. 

Check the roles and permissions of those users.
Check the report filtering.
Check any fields that may be restricted by user.  If you have some individual fields that are restricted, and those fields are included in the report it may be causing some of the report errors.
