summary line on reports

Why do some auto generated reports come with an AVG line, some with a SUM line, and some with both? I have a time sheet table that shows only an average of all the line items, not helpful. How do I change it to SUM?

Each numeric or duration field has an field property as to whether to show totals and/or averages. It's a function of the fields on the reports, not the Table Reports themselves.

Wow, that was simple! I converted the duration to text, then the text to number because ToNumber requires a text value, then changed the data type to formula-numeric and got the result I was looking for. Thanks Mark! For anyone else struggling with this, here is the formula: ToNumber(ToText([End Time]-[Start Time]))

If you simply wanted a result in the format of the number of hours, i.e. a numeric field then all you needed was to use the ToHours() function.

ToHours([End Time]-[Start Time])
