I was using in my alert an option to reflect old versus new value after being changed.   I seem to have lost how to reflect old and new value. It was similar to [Equip Reqd By.Old] to [Equip Reqd By.New]. But this does not seem to be working.  Need some help.

The new value just has the regular field name

[Equip Reqd By]

The old value is prefixed with old.

[old.Equip Reqd By]

Is there a way to use these old. and new. values in a formula?
alas, no.  They only exist fleetingly while the Notification is being sent.

Bummer..any suggestions on how to compare the previous value with the current value, after a change to the field has been made? Thanks for the super fast response.

You can use in new feature QuickBase actions to do what you are looking to do.
Benjamin, can you tell me a bit more at bout your use case?  What is the nature of the field you are looking to track?  There are a couple of different solution I can think of..

I have a zip code field that when changed needs to trigger a third part tool to run. I have went with a form rule checking a checkbox if the field changes, then having the third party tool removing the check upon running.
OK, so your problem is solved.  Out of curiosity, who are you using for Geocoding?

We use Workato and have a GET that reaches out to Google Maps.

So apparently, form rules can't see changes to lookup fields (fail). I'd be appreciative of any ideas you have Mark. Thanks
Now I'm not understanding the question.  Can you restate your question clearly?

I have two zip code fields on a record. They are both lookup fields. If the value of either changes, I need to be able to check a box or somehow indicate that a change has been made, specifically to either of those values, not just the record being updated in general.
Do these lookup fields change when the record is being edited?  Or do they change silently in the background when other records are edited?

both
To trigger email notifications, you would need to be sitting on the source Parent which is being edited and then click a button to initiate a script which would walk down the child record to jiggle a checkbox field in order to trigger the email notification or webhook which goes to Workato.

It could get more automated than that, but you would then be headed solidly into a custom outside programming.
The script that I would use is pretty canned so  not that hard to do, and would have to be initiated by a user clicking a button.

Ok, that's pretty much where I have ended up. Thanks again.
