The Favorite Button isn't working

Open any report and click Favorite. Nothing appears to happen. The report is not added to your favorites. 

Anyone else seeing this?

Quick Base Support says it's because our header background is white. This also explains why my left toes are longer than the right.

Tried the "Favorite" functionality in Chrome and MS Edge.  Same problem in both browsers.

We also noticed this and put in a support case.  Support gave us the workaround of "change the background color".  I don't want to throw off my branding, so came up with a different workaround.  Have your users open the report, then click on the Favorites button at the top.  From the Recently visited reports they can then find the report and favorite it.

Hi Hing and Ian,

There are sort of two distinct issues that we are having with this. One is that if the header color is white users aren't able to see the favorite icon. When this happens we recommend that companies use a header that is not white. A separate one is some have reported that when they favorite a report and then open the favorite list it hasn't been added to that list. Which of the two issues are you having? If you are having the first I would recommend attempting to make your header a color other then white. If the issue is that you aren't able to successfully favorite a report at all you should let them know that in your support case. Let them know that you are hitting the favorite button on a report and it isn't being added to the favorite list specifically. They may be getting confused at the distinction.

I had the first, but it was resolved by one of the updates.  I have the second issue (which was replicated by Support) where hitting the favorite button doesn't add the report to the favorite list.

Ours would be the latter.  We see the favorite icon and link.  It's just not functioning when trying to add report to Favorite.

Yes in that point I would recommend opening a support case and indicating this is what you are running into. We are trying to get specifics on everyone that is having this issue while our PD Team is looking into it.

We have seen that bug with the favorite report button when the header color is white or a very light color (light grays and pastels). The current temporary work around is to change the color to a darker color and try again. The bug is still being worked on by our PD team.

Stop telling people to change the color when the issue is we SEE THE FAVORITE button, but upon pressing it, it doesn't work... nothing is added to the favorites list.  Also, I'm not using customer colors of any sort, so this is a Quickbase issue. As much money as we're overcharged for our licensing, I'm surprised the answer is... change your colors.  If I had specific colors, I would be livid that a simple color change has such a significant impact on your customers.

Hi Tom,

I am sorry that this issue has been persisting, our PD team is still working on the issue at this time. The suggestion of altering your application header's color is just a work around that helps to resolve the issue in most cases while our team continues to work. The long term answer is not to change your color, it is what I can suggest app admins do while work on this issue continues.  We do appreciate your feedback on how this bug is affecting your use of Quick Base.

The workaround is to click the favorite star (black star) at the top and click “Recently visited in this app”.  Find your report and click the star next to the report to make it the favorite.

Actually I have fallen away from using the Favorites button. Instead I just use a Service Worker to splice in my own Quick Access Buttons (there is a lot of space there so why not put it to good use):

       AN - ANalysis
       BD - Big Data
       ML - Machine Learning
       IT - Internet of Things
       WF - WorkFlow Manager
       AR - Augmented Reality
       VR - Virtual Reality
       SW - Service Worker Manager
       PL - PLugin Manager

I have several apps each with anywhere from a few to many reports I like quick access to.. I'm not sure this solution would work for me.

At this time the bug related to this issue (QBE012118) is still open and being assessed by our PD Team for a fix. The work around listed above can help temporarily while they are looking into the favorites issue. If you would like to be updated automatically on this issue if you submit a support case we can tie it to the open investigation into this issue and you will be notified when a patch or fix is put into place. I am sorry for the inconvenience while our team continues to work on a fix for this issue.

I was hoping the April release would address the problem with the favorite button not adding reports to the favorites list, but I am still unable to do this. Any idea when this will be fixed - it used to work well.
