Original post in the former community durning migration:
So I am trying to track the status change of a job.  I tried using the following approach: dynamc form rule: Upon save make [status tracking field] = [Status field].  Ordinarily this would work if I actuall use the green "save" button, however;

Job statuses are changed through [URL buttons], example of code in button:

URLRoot()& "db/" &Dbid()& "?a=API_EditRecord" & "&rid=" & [Job Number]&"&apptoken= xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxi"&"&_fid_40=Work in Progress" & "&rdr=" & URLEncode(URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?a=dr&rid=" & [Job Number])

So when i push the button the status changes and page is redirected but dynamic form rule isnt working.  Is there any other way to track field changes?

Answer

URLRoot()& "db/" &Dbid()& "?a=API_EditRecord" & "&rid=" & [Job Number]

&"&apptoken= xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxi"

&"&_fid_40=Work in Progress"

&"&_fid_99=Work in Progress"

& "&rdr=" & URLEncode(URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?a=dr&rid=" & [Job Number])

No problem, just update both the status field and the status tracking field at the same time.  Change 99 to the fid of the status tracking field.
