Table - "Investigations" & Table - "Service Orders". Many of the same fields
Related in that one investigation can have many service orders. On the form for Service Orders, inside the record I have a button that creates a new record in the Investigations table. This brings up a new blank record. How can I populate the information from the service order record into the same fields for the new Investigation record without having to retype all the information?
They will not be editable on the Investigations record, only up on the Parent Service Orders record. But they way they will always match.. Ie, if you change a name or address on the Service Order, it will automatically update all its Investigations..
If you are working with an investigation record and find you need to create a service order to get those fields populated, then choose the Service order from the drop down list of service orders in the investigation record. The last choice will be to add new service order.
