User Lists and email

When using calendar to schedule employees....we pick them from a user list. At times, more than one employee can be assigned to a task on a given day. In other tables we have set up a user email formula filed. It notes...when an employee is selected then send email notification to an address other than the default. This was done so that we could input the employees text address. The employee would then get a text notification. It has worked great...for individual selection...but this field will not work with a user list. Anyone know how to work around this? We would love to pick users, then send notification emails to the "text address" rather than the default address.

Hi Joshua,

Thanks for the question.

To begin, please make sure that all user information is up to date in Quickbase. Also, you could create an additional email field that you could reference as well.

Let me know how this helps.

Best,

I guess a better way to ask the question....

All my users have an email address.  When sending out a notification based on a "User pick list" to all users (up to ten) that have been selected...how do I set up another field to send the users a notification using an alternate email?

I have created an email filed...but it only seems to work if I select one employee...not several.  It could just be a way that I am working my formula.

if you need to send out a notification to Alternate email addresses, you will need to have say 10 separate email fields.  Then set up an Open Notification type  and in the mail to box hand type the email address fields - I recommend vertically like

[email 1]
[email 2]
[email 3]

...

[email 10]

I was hoping to only send the notification to the names that were selected from the user list...if I set an open notification, wouldn't that send the email to all 10 names?

OK, I re-read your question.  Let me think about that.
