I am building an app for incident and problem management. We need the ability to sort immediately once the ticket is received.We want to use the recordid# and put alpha in the beginning of the number.

Incident - IN123

Problem - P123

Service Request - SR123

The RecordID Field cannot be changed.  However, you can make a concatenated field that I believe would meet your needs.

A Formula Text Field named something like "Record Number" with a formula referring to the field that shows Incident, Problem or Service Request.  The formula would be similar to this but you would use the real field name:

If(

[field]="Incident","IN"&[Record ID#],

[field]="Problem","P"&[Record ID#],

[field]="Service Request","SR"&[Record ID#])

Is there a formula that can be used to put the alpha onp the back of the record number.  I used a formula I found on the community [Record ID#] + 100 & " " & "IN" but the IN is not populating. We need to start a specific number in the database and have the alpha on the back of the number.

The entire formula is [Record ID#] + 100 & " " & "IN"
