What can do to use group/sort the report column headings (works for administrator, but not for other).
I had the same problem. This suggestion seems to have solved the problem. After I unchecked the restricting box, I was able to sort while testing in a role that was previously restricted. Haven't heard from anyone yet whose only role is the role with the problem. Only potential problem is that doing this enables customization in general and although my client wants people with this role to be able to sort, they do not want them to be able to make changes to the basic report structure. Is there a less global fix? Thanks.
I assume that you are aware that while regular users may be able to change the report parameters, you can ensure they cannot save common reports and "break" a shared report. But there is no middle ground I am aware of which would let a user change the sort of a report, without also being able to create personal reports with a different sort or column selection. The only suggestion I have is to leave the users totally locked down but to set up their reports with Dynamic filters and the search / filter box - those can help take the place of a lack of ability to sort.
