When setting up a reference proxy field, how do I get the related tables field values to show in the dropdown?

I have two tables, CONTENT and SAMPLES that are linked CONTENT < SAMPLES. The new reference field "Related-Content" is created and now displayed in the SAMPLES table, but when I click the field to select a content value, I am getting drop down options that show the value of the field "Content ID" concatenated with values from two other fields in the CONTENT table ("Year" and "Primary Channel"). How do I make the "Related-Content" field drop down just show the values from the "Content ID" field?

There is also a field called "Event ID" in the CONTENT table. I created a new reference proxy field called "Content-Event ID" which is now displayed in the SAMPLES table as well, but same issue—when I click the field to select an event id value, I am getting drop down options that show the value of the field "Content ID" concatenated with values from the same two other fields in the CONTENT table. How do I make the drop down options for the new attribute "Content-Event ID" to be the values from this "Event ID" field in the CONTENT table?

First - when in Grid Edit mode - the columns that show up are the "Record Picker" columns.  That's why you're seeing the "Content ID" concatenated with "Year" and "Primary Channel".

To modify what the Record Picker columns are:

- go to Content > Table settings > Advanced settings

- go to Identifying Records > Record Picker

- modify the Record Picker columns there

Second - since you made "Content - Event ID" to be the reference proxy field - you're actually doing the SAME selection as "Related Content".  i.e. Both of them (the reference and reference proxy fields) are dropdowns to select the Related Content.

If you want to select a Related Event - you would need a relationship from the Events table, where EVENTS < SAMPLES.
