Why can't the Quickbase "native" fields (date and/or record id) be used as dynamic filters?

I'd like to use fields including Date Modified and Date Created as dynamic filters on reports, but these don't seem to be available options. Why not?

This is solely based from personal experience but I do believe it's because those fields are Date/Time fields. The time changes are so minimal that you'll hardly generate a group of records during any given same minute.

For example, if they were available you'd get a filter for records created at 10:30 am, 10:31 am, 10:35 am and so on. It's counter productive and it would make a huge list of pointless filters.

That makes some sense, but it's not the full answer, Jesus. I have a Date/Time field which I am able to use as a dynamic filter (but can only filter by date, not time).

You're right. And to make matters worse it looks like you can't even use dynamic form rules to extract the date from the native fields. On top of that using formulas makes the field unusable in dynamic filters. I'll keep on looking.

Found the answer though is kinda confusing. Something this basic should not be hard to pull off though.

Jonathan,
Perhaps I've misunderstood your original question, but not counting the Record ID field, this is a very easy thing to do.  To make the Date Created or Date Modified or other fields be available for use with Dynamic filters they just need to be set to "searchable".   You can do this in field properties or on the field settings page. I have attached screenshots.

Wow, Robin, thank you! I had no idea about that parameter for fields, AND that those native fields weren't searchable by default. You've made my day :)
