Override a date formula field?

Hello,

I've created a formula date field to auto-populate the date two weeks from today

today()+Days(14)

but I want to allow the users to override it. 

Normally they would have a call every two weeks but there could be occasions where they/the customer will be on vacation or the date just doesn't work for the customer.

Any ideas?

    Typically, I create this formula field and hide it in an "Admin" section of the form. Then I use it to populate the Actual Date field and set a Form Rule to Change the Value in the Real Field to the value in this field when the Real field is empty.
