Notification Email to address in a field, not a user

Hi all,

I'm hoping this is not a QB limitation.

I want to have a notification email sent to an email address listed in a field and not necessarily a user.

For example, our team has registered a guest or client for a workshop, I want an email notification sent to the guest or client listed in that registration record to say 'You are confirmed to attend XX workshop'

Is this possible, or is this a limitation in QB?  Could I accomplish this using a pipeline rather than a table notification?

Thank you!

Jen

  • Not documented (I don't know why), but easy peasy.

Just make an Email Notification of Type Open. (You only get to choose the type when creating one, not editing), and list the fields each containing a single email address (not a comma or semi separated list).  I like to list them vertically in the email who box.

There is no helper to select fields so type carefully.  But I think it will validate that that each is a  valid field name for an email field type,

    [non user email 1]

    [non user email 2]

    [non user email 3]

    [internal user email 1]
