Pull data from table different fields

Hi
I need to extract data from a table where the only differentiation is the name of the item i.e.
Product is - Orange
Quantity - 5
Cost per item - $5.00
Unit - Each
Cost ex gst - $25.00

I need to pull out the Quantity, Cost Per Item, Unit and Cost ex gst. or in other words create a formula that pulls out the data linked to the product.  I have created fields for each of the above but don't know how to get the data to those fields.

  • If you have a master table of parts and you want to pull down values from it you will need to have a Relationship.

    So for example

One Part has many Order Lines.

Here is some help on making a relationship.
    https://help.quickbase.com/user-assistance/about_relationships.html

The other help article to read would be snapshot fields. https://help.quickbase.com/user-assistance/setting_up_snapshot_fields.html?Highlight=snapshot

The reason for that is that if the price of Oranges goes up, you don't want the historical order lines that had oranges on hem all get repriced retroactively.

    Jessica,

What do you mean by extract the data?

    • Are you trying to build a report to display on a dashboard?
    • Are you trying to get the data out of Quickbase to another system?
    • Or as Mark asked do you need to show this as part of a relationship such as line items on an order?
