QR Code to access record in QB App
I'd like to create a QR code that pulls up a record in the QB app on a tablet when scanned with the tablet's camera app. This QR code would be a field in my Packing List table. When the packing list is printed out by our office staff, the QR code will be printed as well. Our warehouse team would like to scan the QR code and be taken straight to the record of the packing list in the QB app on their tablet instead of looking for the record in the app. I've had some success generating QR codes but having trouble directing to a record. Here's my code for the QR code. "<img src=\"http://chart.apis.google.com/chart?cht=qr&chs=120x120&chl="&[QR Code URL]&"\"alt=\"\"/>" where [QR Code URL] is 'https://cfkent.quickbase.com/db/bpc9xkysz?a=dr&rid=[Record ID#] ------------------------------ Howard Fu ------------------------------52Views0likes18CommentsHow to calculate run time from hour meter reading
I own a small utility company and have several operators check in plants. They record the day's meter readings (cumulative hour meters and water meters) in QuickBase. I need to calculate run time based on the previous reading compared to the current reading. I have dozens of facilities, hundreds of meters to read and thousands of reads. Tables: Facilities, Equipment, Reads. The readings are taken on random dates (no defined interval). I have the read table related to itself so that the previous read can be "selected". This has been working but I would like to be able to import a list of reads but I don't know how to populate the record ID required for finding the "previous" read. I think I'm looking for a way to dynamically/logically calculate the key field.36Views1like6CommentsExporting QR Codes in bulk for label making and inventory
Hello All, I use quickbase to keep track of industrial equipment as well as inspect and keep records of said equipment. Each piece of equipment has QR code linked to it directly in quickbase. I am trying to export both the data and the images so II can print them out with a Brady labeler. My issue right now is the only file format offered is CSV which does support images. I am curious if anyone else has run into this issue and has a solution. ------------------------------ Phil Heron ------------------------------26Views0likes8CommentsMobile button save and add
I have an add record form for a barcoding application. I have one receipt to many objects. Users would enter a receipt then add object records to take a picture of each object and assign a barcode. The button works great in desk top but the record id from the parent doesn't go to the child in the mobile app. any ideas here? code for the button: var text STYLE = "background: green;" & //button color "color: white;" & //text color "text-align: center;" & //text alignment "text-decoration: none;" & //none, underline, line-through "font: 18px Calibri, sans-serif;" & //text size, font, & style "border: 3px solid #505050;" & //border width, style, & color "border-radius: 5px;" & //roundness of button corners "width:100px;"& //button width "padding: 5px 50px;"; //space between text & button var text RID = If(IsNull([Record ID#]),"%%rid%%",ToText([Record ID#])); var text URL = URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_OBJECT_PICS]& "?a=API_GenAddRecordForm" & "&_fid_9='"& $RID & "'&z=" & Rurl(); ------------------------------ Dan McLaughlin ------------------------------24Views0likes5CommentsBulk Barcode scanning on the mobile
I am needing to scan a pallet full of barcodes into an inventory system .. does anyone else have experience with doing this using the mobile app? So far, I can only figure out a 3-tap minimum solution of tapping into the field, tapping the barcode button, then tapping save / next. With 300 barcodes to scan, per pallet .. I'm thinking I might just be better off buying a barcode scanner. ------------------------------ Malcolm McDonald ------------------------------9Views0likes11CommentsQR Codes suddenly not working on ioS?
Does anyone use QR code scanning on iOS? I use it to get to specific records in QB. It used to work perfectly. Then a few days ago, when scanning on iOS it only takes you to yourrealm.quickbase.com, and leaves off the entire rest of the URL. Are other people having this issue? ------------------------------ Mike Tamoush ------------------------------9Views0likes4CommentsQR Code Image appearing as broken image on mobile app
I've got an app that is utilizing QR codes for scanning items into QuickBase and the QR codes appear fine when I'm on my desktop but they don't appear at all when I'm on the mobile app. I'm able to scan from the app and click the broken image to go to a record but the actual barcode does not appear. Any idea what the issue could be? My formula to generate the QR code is below for reference: "<img src=\"http://chart.apis.google.com/chart?cht=qr&chs=120x120&chl="&[Product Name] & "\"\"/>" ------------------------------ Niraj Shah ------------------------------8Views0likes0CommentsHiding Green Save button on mobile
Is it possible to hide the save button on mobile? There is an old thread with some iol type advice. Anyone know if this still is a viable option? The reason is - since there is no way on mobile to direct to another URL (ie NextURL), I need to create a custom save button that redirects. I am trying to force my user to use my custom save button. My specific use case is I have a button that takes people to a specific form on a record, in edit mode. When they save, it just automatically lands on the default form in view. ------------------------------ Mike Tamoush ------------------------------7Views0likes3CommentsThat functionality is not enabled in the mobile app
In the desktop version of the app, I have a record picker (drop down menu) to select a related client. One of the options in the drop down menu is "Create New Client". It brings up a new window and allows me to create a new client record. Once saved, it then associates that new client with the new Work Order I am generating. However, in the mobile side of things, when I go to select a client and select "Create New Client", it gives me an error message: Sorry, that functionality is not enabled on mobile devices. How could something so simple as creating a new record and relating it to the current record be a non-standard, disabled functionality? My only thought is that I have done something wrong and not set something up correctly ..... Is there a setting somewhere that needs to be enabled/disabled, to allow this functionality to be ..... functional ???? Thanks for all your help!! ------------------------------ Andrew ------------------------------7Views0likes9CommentsName and rename pictures and attachments in attachment fields
Is there a way to name a picture attachment as you upload it into a record from the Quickbase mobile app? Also, is there a way to rename an attachment that is already in the record? Quickbase automatically gives it a file name when taking a picture using phone camera with a string of numbers which isn't meaningful. ------------------------------ Brian Hunot ------------------------------6Views0likes5Comments
