Can I use concatenate in Quickbase?
Trying to combine two text fields in Quickbase into one text field. Field 1 is a title from another table and Field 2 is the version of that title. So Field 1 might be "Diabetes" and Field 2 might be "v2". I just want to combine them to be "Diabetes_v2" in the new field. Is that possible? Seems like if should be simple enough with CONCATENATE([FIELD1),"_",[FIELD2]) but that doesn't seem to work. Getting this error: Formula error -- Unknown function The function name Concatenate(text, text, text) is unknown. Really? You can't use CONCATENATE in Quickbase? Any advice? Simple user here. Not an expert or well versed in Quickbase, but it's what my office has used in the past so I inherited it. I recently updated the language in an email notification (triggered by a checkbox). The email sends, but is still using the old language, even though when I go check the notification itself in settings, it shows the new language. I have no idea why it won't send the updated custom message. any help is greatly appreciated.33Views0likes1CommentCan I setup a reminder email to remind me on the date, instead of x days before or after?
I have a reminder email notification setup, based on the date in a field called "Remind Me On." This is a date field where the user can specify a date in which he or she wants to be reminded of the task. We chose this path rather than standardizing reminders to be sent X days prior to the due date. This way, if someone wants to be reminded a week before or a day before, they can customize their remind date. In the reminder email template, I have the option to select to be reminded X days before the "Remind Me On" date, or X days after. I attempted to insert a 0 value in that field, and selected "before," hoping that I would get a reminder on the date specified in the field. I did not. The only other solution I can think of is to create a formula field that takes the Remind Me On date and adds 1 day. Then setup the reminder email to send 1 day before that formula date - which would end up being my Remind Me On date. Are there any better solutions? Good Morning All, I want to know how it is possible to submit a form to someone via email to where they receive a link that they can access to complete said form that gets captured in quickbase. Everytime i look on the forums, the only things that come up is how to send emails with changes that have been done to a form or another.. not exactly what I am looking for.. ------------------------------ Douglas ------------------------------29Views0likes2CommentsHow to properly set up email reminder
Good day! Is there a way to automatically send emails to all records that are 21 days past the [File Date] field? As far as I know, emails only get sent out when a record is modified or added. If it's not yet possible, I will highly appreciate any similar workarounds. Thanks in advance! ------------------------------ frnmj ------------------------------Solved18Views0likes6CommentsConfirmation button in email
We have designed a HTML 'Booking Ticket' email to be sent as an email notification to clients when booking details are received. The email notification is sent to the client directly via Quickbase notify upon saving the form. We would like to include a button in the email which the client presses that 'confirms' the booking. How would we go about building this button that changes the 'job status' field in a job row to 'confirmed'?11Views2likes35CommentsHow do I create a button to initiate an email from Outlook?
I would like to create a button to add to a form that would initiate a standard email from Outlook to another QB user. The email should send a copy of, or a link to, the record being displayed in the form when the button is clicked. Is this possible?11Views1like23CommentsUsing Quickbase to live update an Arcgis Online webmap
Arcgis Online is an online program capable of building a map from a CSV file containing LAT/LONG values. We alright have a database prepared for this, but rather than export and upload the CSV manually we would like to automatically update on it's own, either through the web of as a file. So we figure we need either: 1. A Ruby script to export a table as CSV every time a row is added, overwriting the old CSV. 2. A URL that will embed a CSV of the table in a webpage. We have tried to go about both of these methods but we have zero experience with Quickbase API and Ruby. Has anyone ever made something similar? Perhaps someone could recommend a Quickbase partner to help us? Thanks!11Views0likes3CommentsInline CSS Styling of Images in Notification Emails
I have a rich text field that uses the below code to display an image from the web if a url is entered in the imageURL field, otherwise it will display the image using the url in the backupimage field. The code uses inline CSS to re-size the image, and works well within Quick Base. If I click to email the record, the preview it displays looks correct (centered and resized), but when the record is emailed or the record is emailed via notification, the images are centered as expected, but not resized, and show up full-size in the email. It seems to ignore the width style in both the default and custom email notification types, but interprets the rest of the HTML correctly. Is there something wrong with my code here that affects only emails, or is there a better way to accomplish this? (I'd like to avoid downloading the image, resizing it, and re-uploading it). Thanks for any ideas! var text backupimage = "<center><a href='"&[originalLink]&"' target='_blank'><img src='"&[backupimage]&"' width='150px'></a></center>"; var text storyimage ="<center><a href='"&[originalLink]&"' target='_blank'><img src='"&[imageURL]&"' width='150px'></a></center>"; If([imageURL]="",$backupimage,$storyimage) ------------------------------ Steve ------------------------------Solved10Views0likes5CommentsApproval by email notification
I have a handful of places in my application where a user needs to approve something, however that user is doesn't have access to the area where the approval is captured so they want to be able to send an email where the user can just click a button or even a link is fine that will just change that field in the record to yes or no without them having to navigate them to the actual record? Also, if a file attachment is sent via email notification, the user should be able to open that attachment from the email correct? ------------------------------ Chris Swirtz ------------------------------10Views0likes1Comment
