I'm working on a Formula - Rich Text field ([Reject]) that creates a clickable "Reject" button as part of an Expense Report app. The goal is for a user to be able to type notes into a form and then click Reject to trigger other actions via API calls. It's pretty much a variation on the (awesome) Magic Buttons app's "20A. Edit record then add record then display record" field. The first issue I encountered was that the button wouldn't "know" the latest value of the [Notes] Text field that's being edited since it hasn't been saved/persisted to QB yet. A workaround for that was a [Current Notes] Formula-Text field with a formula of just [Notes]. Since it's a formula, it gets updated every time the user updates the [Notes] field. With that problem solved, the button almost works... Except there's a catch: If the user enters notes and -immediately- clicks the Reject button, then the formulas don't get refreshed before [Reject]'s current <a> link gets followed. This means the API calls don't have the latest [Current Notes] value. I've tried Form Rules for updating field values, but that didn't seem to help. Any other user action, like pressing tab, enter, clicking somewhere on the form, or even holding down left click for a second or two, causes the formulas to refresh and the button works A-OK. Has anyone else encountered this behavior and/or know of a way to force formulas to be refreshed?32Views0likes2CommentsColor coding multi-list pulled from another application

Hello all! This is my first post in this forum. I am trying to create a formula URL field that displays as a button on a table report that is filtered by a single date. This button when executed should add the record, save it and return to the report with the same filters that the user started on. This is what I have set up: var text urlone = URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?a=API_GenAddRecordForm&_fid_6=" & [Related Placement] & "&_fid_12=" & [Week Ending Date] & "&_fid_504=" & [Job Notes] & "&_fid_505=" & [Placement Notes] & "&apptoken=(my app token)"; var text urltwo = URLEncode(URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "/tablereport?a=q&qid=16&nv=1&v0=" & [Week Ending Date]); $urlone & $urltwo This will generate the form with the appropriate field populated, but the user must press the save button on the record to return to the filtered report. I have also tried modifying urltwo to var text urltwo = "&rdr=" & URLEncode(URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "/tablereport?a=q&qid=16&nv=1&v0=" & [Week Ending Date]); but the user must still manually save the record before the filtered reports displays. Any idea how I can get the newly generated record to save and redirect to the filtered report in one click??Solved31Views0likes2CommentsToUserList display in order of formula entry
I'm using the ToUserList function to create the list (user names) of required approvers for specific records. Ideally I would like the order of those approvers to match the roles listed in an adjacent section of the record. I wrote the function to have approver 1, approver 2, etc. in the preferred order, however it seems that they are only displayed alphabetically on the form. Is there a way to change this default? I've looked and cannot find it.5Views0likes0CommentsConditional formula url
I'm trying to build a conditional url formula where if a multiple choice field equals a certain person, display this url. Unfortunately, it's not pulling in anything. Here is my current syntax in the formula URL field: If(ToText([Contractor Operations Manager])="Sally Struthers","https://calendly.com/sally.struthers") & If(ToText([Contractor Operations Manager])="Fred Flinstone","https://calendly.com/fred-flinstone") Any thoughts?Solved32Views0likes3CommentsCreate a formula duration over 5 years
Hello, I am trying to figure this out How to calculate a duration for each year based on a varying start date? The start date can be at any month of the year (just calculating months, not days) and the project will last over the next 5 years. Example: IF the Start date is September 2024, there's 4 full months for the first year. And if they're needed for ([Months Needed] is for 12 or 18 or 60 months, then how would I find the duration of the next year, and the next? Would each year need it's own duration field? Like Year 1 duration, Year 2 duration, etc? I'll have these fields [YEAR 1], [YEAR 2], [YEAR 3], [YEAR 4], [YEAR 5]. Hello all, trying to have a checkbox formula that will look to see if all checkboxes are checked for a section, which I have working. But I need to limit it by project, so it doesn't think they are all the same, since each project will have its own checklist. How do I alter the syntax to correctly only associate the checkboxes on the same project? If( ([Yes] = true and [Section] = "Lorem Ipsum") or ([No] = true and [Section] = "Lorem Ipsum" ) or ([N/A] = true and [Section] = "Lorem Ipsum"), AND <I need to limit this to only items on the same project> Ive tried to put in and GetRecords("{16.EX."&[Project - Record ID#]&"}",[_DBID_CHECKLISTS]) But it returns the error "The operator 'and' cant be returned on types 'bool' and 'recordlist' What syntax am I missing to limit the IF check to only items that are part of the same project?27Views0likes1Comment
