Button that simultaneously saves/updates a record

Question

when creating a new record (unsaved).&nbsp; I need a button at the end of the form that when pressed, it updates a field, saves the record, then returns back to the page in either view or edit mode.&nbsp; Is this possible?

I�m not sure that it�s possible to string that together without script.

Have you considered using a form rule based on

�when the record and saved�

You can combine that with training the users to use save and continue ending if they want to continue in edit mode
