Create a Dropdown from a Formula Field

Hi,

I have created a formula field Year on the basis of Date Field and stores the year as 2019-2020 or 2020-2021 depending on the date entered which is working fine, however if i create a report and set this field to Ask the user then it does not show as a drop down, it just shows as plain text box to type the same which is not what i want.

I want it to show it as a drop down so that i can either select any one of them or can do multi selection. Is there a way as to how this can be done.?

    One solution is just to make the hyphenated year field be a Dynamic Filter and have the user run the whole report and then use the DF to get their Year filter.

    Thanx. I have already done what you are suggesting but would like to have it as a selection. Is there no way to do this?

        Hi Mark,

        Sorry but i could not get what you are trying to say.

        The formula field Year is in the same table where the data is created so how does relationship come in the picture.  I just need a list of the years which keep getting generated thru the formula where i should be able to select either one or multi.

      I'm sorry, but I posted the response to the incorrect question.

      I do not know how to make the <ask the user> be a drop down in your use case.

      I am instead suggesting just to have the user run the full report without the <ask the user> and then show the first Dynamic filter to be the Year field
