Custom Data Rules Preventing upload

I enjoyed the presentation on custom data rules that was presented in Empower 2020 and am using them in an app.  I am experiencing an unintended consequence of the data rules now.  This table has a webhook that will add a new record when a record is created in a separate table.  The custom data rules are preventing the webhook from adding new records and throwing a 400 error.  How can I modify the data rules or webhook to resolve this problem?
