Disable Grid Edit from Report Link

I need to disable grid editing for a report link, as there is a known bug when you have an editable Report link, and try to use grid edit, if you add child entries they are orphaned (or related to an arbitrary entry, based on something I cannot determine). I don't want my users accidentally creating orphaned children, so I figure Ill force them to just edit the parent, and use the editable report link.

I've found some old threads on this, and the only solution I found was to created a dummy report, and then override by report and send the user there for grid edit. This idea was from threads 3-4 years ago.

Is there any update on solutions to remove grid edit?

    As soon as you have more than 1 form, you get he forms usage option.  There is a setting there for Grid Edit = "Disable".

    But I guess if you make a dummy form with no fields (in order to get multiple forms), then you can use that form too and call it dummy form to block grid edit.

    Either way you need a second form.

      Ahh yeah, I need the dummy form just to get my options.

      It's too bad about the bug. It's a pretty big nuisance, I am surprised it's not high up on their 'to do' list. Would love for people to be able to add children via grid edit.
