When using an editable report link, to add new entries you can simply make selections/enter data on the next blank row. One of my selections in this scenario is a related field with a conditional dropwdown. In my picture below, the field the condition is based on (where it says NAD-A) is only filled in the following circumstances:
a) the entry has already been saved or
b) the child is created in the traditional way using an add 'child' button which actually takes you to the new record form.
You can see on a new row, the conditional dropdown field isn't filled in yet, so the selection cannot take place (if I click make a selection it instructs that I need to choose that column first. The column that says nad-a is a lookup field from the parent.).
