While you were definitely correct about the field value being blank in the relationship, I went ahead and changed this:

Qrew LegendTry going to the advanced properties for the source table and set the "Record Picker" first field (of the three offered) to be the name field.
Checked, looks like it was already set that way:
and there is still nothing populating the selection menu
Qrew LegendAre you using a report to control the drop down list on the form? Check the blue link on the form for that drop down field. What is the first field on that report? It should be the employee name.
