Field not updating table

Question

I am a new to QB. I have a form which has two fields. One is a drop down box that based on the selection an amount populates into the other field. The amount shows on the form like I want but it is not updating the table the form is linked to. Why?

The drop down is not from a relationship. I have a field called Current Medal that is a is an input field with a list of medals to choose from. In the table there are fields that are those medals that have $ amounts associated with them. In the dynamic form rules I state that if you choose a particular medal in the Current Medal field to populate the Award field with the associated $ amount. It works correctly on the form but in the underlying table it doesn't update even when you hit save.

Is it possible that you have the $ amount field on the form twice?
