Formula to Automatically Download File Attachments

Question

Has anyone come across any formulas that you could add to a button that would automatically download file attachments?
I've tried the formula below, but .jpg and .gif files till only open in a new window.

URLRoot() & "up/" & [_DBID_XYZ] & "/a/r" & [Record ID#] & "/e36/v0"

I'm looking to have these files automatically download.

Working out of Chrome (in case browser settings are involved in download behavior).

I don't claim to be an expert but I believe that this is a browser setting as to what the computer should do for any different file type.
