How can I use Automations to update a field in the same table as the trigger?

I would like to use automations to copy the value in one particular formula field into another history (log edits) field when a key approval is given.  Both the trigger and the action would take place in the same table, and in fact, in the same record.  

Is this possible?  I have played with the automations interface and so far it is not working for me.

    Yes it is quite possible. Even QB Actions, and Webhooks can do that. In the Action, choose the "other" table (where is says advanced...) then select the same app and the same table and in the conditions, select where Record ID# = Trigger:Table:Record ID#.
