If reference field is deleted will the relationship between tables get removed automatically?

I am newbie and trying to figure out why data is not populated in a table. When I checked relationship diagram, table A is connected to table B using a field "Related Receiving Record" but i cant find this field when i searched in the application? is it possible the relationship was created using "Related Receiving Record" field and later deleted. but relationship between tables was not updated or removed automatically?

    You are correct in your assumption that if the reference field is deleted then your information will not pass properly.  As that connection has been lost with the field.

    If the change has happened recently you could get a backup of your data from QB.

    You should search for  [Record ID#] in the "Receiving Records" Table. 

    Based on your example, the "Receiving Records" is the Parent table and you are linking to a child table, [Receiving Records] - [Record ID#] = [Child Table] - [Related Receiving Record]
