If you use what I believe is called a wedge scanner, it is just a device which "wedges" in between the keyboard and the PC. It simply adds another way to do data entry and the PC (and hence Quick Base) thinks that you have typed the characters that the scanner scans.
So the fields are just normal fields as if you were going to type the data on a keyboard.
