Only Send Notifications on Weekdays

I have several notifications that go out daily and would like to only send them Monday through Friday.  I don't see an option in the notifications to only send on specific days.  The only idea I have at the moment is to modify the report to only look for data from Sunday through Thursday, (Sunday would need to look at the data from Friday) and only send the reports on days when the report is not empty.  The notifications are a something new and this app is being deployed incrementally.  We want the recipients to get used to looking at the reports every morning.  That is the primary reason we want the reports to send even if they are blank, at least for now.
