Quick Base only allows the ability to paste in an image reference into a rich text field. Are you sure this is happening in Firefox and not just an image reference to a place on the web? The challenge with a rich text field is that if you paste it in, we don't actually know where you want to store it. So we currently support an image reference via URL only.

Absolutely sure it's happening. You ought to be able to try it yourself in Firefox. My users find the ability quite necessary.

- PatrickDunn6 years agoQrew Assistant CaptainI believe what's happening is that in FF the image is embedded in the HTML via conversion to a string in base64.

- hhersch6 years agoQuickbase StaffI am in trying in Firefox Quantum 69.0.2 and can't make it happen. The only thing that we can think of is that your browser may be converting the image into base64 representation and then we would wind up storing it as data. If that happened, I don't quite think we would consider it a bug, but it certainly could cause performance issues since we would be storing pretty large blobs of text.

Using the image reference route, there are too many extra steps for them. Consequently, I've had to devise a means of regularly archiving this content (migrating it from the field to an attachment associated with the record).
