Save Parent when Child is Edited

Hi all,

I have a parent/child relationship built and have checked off the "save parent when child is created". Works fine.

Issue is, when I go into the parent and make some edits and then click on the edit button for one of my child records (without first saving the parent), I get a message saying that my parent will not be saved, but does not give me the option to save. Options are exit or cancel. What am I missing?!
