Updating inventory count

I want to be able to have a table with an inventory of vehicles, vehicle numbers and the quantity available to be assigned to a job. In another table I have related those fields to an assignment table. The output I am trying to get is that when I assign one of those vehicle it will update the inventory table to show how many are still available to be assigned. I tried a couple simple formulas in my inventory table unsuccessfully. Thanks for any help you can provide this newbie. _

    Hi Montgomery,

    In the inventory table have you created any summary fields that would allow you to summarize up the number of vehicles being used from the assignments table in order to compare your total quantity to the assignments? Depending on if vehicles get checked back in you may also need to find a way to summarize up only those assignments that are current and would effect the pool of vehicles currently available.
