Using a date in an If statement

I want to write a fairly basic If statement that would look something like this: If([Resolution Date] > (3+[Initiation Date], "TRUE", "FALSE) However, I receive the error "Expecting bool but fou...

If([Resolution Date] > [Initiation Date]+ Days(3), "TRUE", "FALSE")

but that is the same as this

If([Resolution Date] > [Initiation Date]+ Days(3), "TRUE")

which is also the same as this

[Resolution Date] > [Initiation Date]+ Days(3)
